Rack and pinion

The rack and pinion can work within a system by:

• Using a chain on the secondary gear (front and side views)
• Direct meshing of the secondary gear (front and side views)
• Using a shaft (side view only)
• Connecting the rack to a solenoid or microswitch.

Key points:

• The pinion (gear) is turned in the same way as the Gear part.
• The pinion may have an attached, secondary gear. Add this gear by clicking on the toolbar icon that appears beside the part when you hold the mouse over it.
